Green IT competition

Teenconsulting has just won the Green IT competition organised by the municipality of Scharbeek! The objective? A new green IT room.

This assignment in special techniques and sustainable energy will save more than 50,000 euros over a period of 25 years. That’s a big saving and not to be underestimated.

Capture

The pre-project phase has been launched. The objective is to define the ideal solution in terms of design of a “Green” Data Centre (DC) and to budget the works in order to obtain efficient, secure, controlled and more sustainable facilities.

“Our job is to save you money.”

The proposed ventilation unit combines indirect free cooling, adiabatic cooling and an adjustable compressor cooling system (via energy recovery for domestic hot water preheating).

Capture

Currently, Green IT is cooled by air, not by chilled water. The best solution for air cooling a data centre is to operate in a “hot and cold corridor”. Cold air is pulsed at floor level between the rows of servers. These will be sealed off at the top level to ensure optimum air circulation. The warm air will be taken in at ceiling level.
